Abstract

This paper presents the results of continuous observations of soil radon
content, air humidity, and atmospheric pressure at the Yangibazar Observatory during
2022–2025. The main objective of the study is to identify the temporal patterns of radon
variability and to assess the relationship between the observed variations and seasonal
and geodynamic processes. Radon flux density was measured using an RR-3s radon
monitor installed in a borehole approximately 1 m deep. Analysis of daily, monthly, and
annual values revealed a stable seasonal pattern in soil radon variability. During 2022–
2024, the maximum radon flux density values reached 15.8–17.4 Bq/m²·s, whereas the
maximum value in 2025 was 14.3 Bq/m²·s. No sharp and prolonged changes in radon
content were identified during the observation period. The observed variations were
predominantly seasonal, indicating the importance of considering meteorological factors,
particularly air humidity and atmospheric pressure, when interpreting radon variations.
The obtained results demonstrate the need for an integrated analysis of radon monitoring
data together with meteorological and geodynamic parameters in studies of seismic
processes.
